60% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Teroldego, 10% Merlot.
Farmed organically since 1996, certified by BIOS srl.
Piano del Sarti in a vine parcel 2,15 ha wide, situated 500 m a.m.s.l. and one of the best Tenuta La Novella terroir.
It presents a fine schist soil, densely planted (5700 to 6950 vines/ha) and it is south-west orientated with a hard slope.
Age of vines: 7 years.
Yield: 35 hl/ha.

Hand picking, with several selections, in order to harvest only grapes at optimum maturity.
Destemming, second selection on sorting table. 20 to 30 days of maceration into vinification vats with very gentle extraction, essentially from punching the cap during the middle of fermentation.
After de-vatting, wines are transferred into barrels for malolactic fermentation.
18 months of aging in French oak barrels (40% new barrels, 30% one wine, 30% two wines).
Production: 5866 bottles
The color is a beautiful deep ruby red.
Rich and complex nose with aromas of red fruits reveals smoky and fresh pepper notes.
Velvety tannins envelop the palate impressing a dense taste of black berries and spices.
This intense and persistent wine leaves a good and dry aftertaste.
